Welcome to My Friend Anxiety. I was diagnosed with both Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome at 40 after a particularly dramatic collapse. I assumed I’d just overdone it a bit and been a bit more anxious than usual about a few things that were going on at the time. I thought I just needed a few days in bed to recover. How wrong I was!
Both Anxiety and CFS suck. You’re physically and mentally exhausted but your mind won’t let you sleep or rest. It’s like the life is being sucked out of you but at the same time your nervous system’s on overdrive.
At times I’ve been lonely, bored, sad, ashamed and most of all insanely scared.
So this blog is my way to try and help others see that they’re not alone. And Anxiety is nothing to be ashamed of. I’ll share my thoughts, ideas and what’s going on with me in the hope it might just help you.
